Chris, blanking signal is actually a periodic signal I know you're in the process of editing, but it is an important distinction.  Obviously it's high most of the time, but it dips low at least once every display interrupt (to clear the displays).

I've been repairing pins since my first acquisition in 1991 (Gottlieb Centigrade 37). My collection of 60 or so games is split between Gottlieb EMs and a mix of solid state games.
