2.1 The Power magnets
If any magnet driver transistor fails and shorts on, these magnets may get turned on all the time and burn the playfield. Make sure the correct fuses are fitted.
The driver transistors for the magnets are located at the left underside of the playfield on the Hi-Powered P.C.B. The solenoid wiring diagram on page 3-9 is incorrect. It shows the Hi-Powered P.C.B. connected to the J107 side of the diagram. It is actually connected to J126 for upper and right magnet and J127 for the left magnet. Each magnet is energized by its associated TIP36C via its driver board transistor, TIP102, Q44 for the left magnet, Q32 for the right magnet and Q34 for the upper magnet.
2.2 Can't get Bear Kicks
Shots to the center ramp work, but don't award Bear Kicks. Instead they award a Millions Plus shot, as if the left ramp had been shot. This is because both ramps award something on exit, but the switch on the top-left portion of the ramp must be closed just before the shared switch so that the game can tell that it was the center ramp, not the left ramp.
The first time I saw this problem, the root cause was that the microswitch on the ramp had worn out and needed to be replaced. The second time I saw this, on a different game, I made the shot reliable with a small bend to the actuator. Perhaps that switch is worn out, but it's tough to get to it.
