Jim Rutherford is a recent convert to the Pinball addiction. I grew up playing Asteroids every day on the way to high school while programming my Vic-20 at nights. In college, my EE senior project was to convert my Commodore 64 into an embedded "dashboard display" for a 1969 Firebird. Not easy squeezing a 5" CRT in there, but it worked! Fast-forward a lifetime when I fell into a non-working 1980 Williams System 7 Black Knight. Fixing the CPU and driver boards was so 1980's that it brought me back to those college days and left me with a life-changing hobby on the hunt for the next machine. I've just completed the board rehab on a Firepower 2 - also Williams - and feeling good since the driver board had a decent amount of corrosion that I was able to abate following an excellent combination of Pinwiki and Pinside guidance available for the googling. The resulting conformal coated bare copper third of the board is like a badge of honor!
