Leon Borre Multi-Colored Palantir (LOTR)
Multicolored palantir sphere for "Lord of the rings "
We use fading multi colored LED's wich will automaticly shift from red to blue to green.Place these in a classic socket and put that in place of the lamp behind the palantir sphere. The sphere will continously change of color during the game and in " attract mode ".
Look here for the video of the final result .............
What do we need?
One 470 Ohm resistor, one bajonet lamp, one capacitor of 10F and a piece of shrinkable tube, and two multicolor LED's
You can find multicolor LED's at www.ledsbuy.nl only $ 1,5 called at the site " Fading full color led's "
This way the parts are prepared:
Remove the glas of the lamp and drill out the resting parts with a 6mm stone dril . The wires of the resistor are bended upwards ( red arrow) and afther that place a piece of shrinkable tube over the whole thing ( black arrow) . The shortest legs of the LED's are tied together with the negative capacitor lead, , do not cut the legs and solder the capacitor at the most upper side of the legs .
Put a piece of shrinkable tube over the jointed legs.
Clear the solder from the lamp socket.
Put the joined legs of the LED's ( the capacitor) in the free hole of the lamp socket , the legs have the right lenght , both LED's stick out of the socket.
Slide the bended and isolated resisor in the socket and solder de end of the shortest wire on upper side of the socket.
Connect the free LED legs with the free resistor wire and the free capacitor wire. This ends the mounting.
Mounted in the socket behind the palentir sphere. The LED's are facing the palantir sphere.( here removed)
