Cleaned up "Orphaned Pages" this morning. Many were deleted which had absolutely nothing on them, and were created when the PW did not have a set format. Don't forget to check some of these remaining pages before creating a new section - http://www.pinwiki.com/wiki/index.php?title=Special:LonelyPages&limit=50&offset=0. There is a lot of good info, (WPC transformer info, evolution of WPC boardset, and machine specific problems), however, some of the pages need to be formatted to fit the current "look" of the PinWiki. Not certain why specific people pages are considered as orphaned. -jimpal 2-12-13
Proposed format for game system pages
The info on each game system page is organized in slightly different ways, so I thought it might be a good idea to open up a discussion on a format that would make sense for all pages. Since I've worked on and read pretty much every game system page, I thought this might be a good starting point for reorganizing things in a more logical manner:
- Introduction (any useful/interesting background info on the manufacturer, games, game system, game "firsts", etc.)
- Game List (a list of games--include links to IPDB?)
- Game List Chart (includes list of games and what boards, transformers, and displays they use--see the WPC page for an example)
- Documentation (any links to documentation, manuals, parts catalogs, service bulletins, listing errors in the documents, etc. Also, recommended reading order of documents, if applicable)
- Boardset Information (list of boards, board part #'s, general purpose of each board, and any other major items--speakers, transformers, displays, etc)
- Game Operation & Theory (how the game works, more details on what boards do and how they interact, switch/lamp matrix charts, driver coil charts, accessing diagnostic/test mode, voltage test point charts)
- Recommended Modifications (modifications to address known faults, changes in fuse values, batteries, free play, re-capping, power supply rebuild guides, bulletproofing, MPU/sound EPROM jumpering)
- Problems & Fixes (currently this is a catch-all for stuff that should really go in other sections--a lot of this stuff could be split off into other sections)
- Game Specific Problems & Fixes (short sections on game-specific issues. Anything extensive should be linked to a separate game page, like Black Hole or Baby Pac-Man
- Parts Substitutions & Replacements (for common parts availability issues or parts that commonly break; ie: replacing a flipper assembly with unobtainable parts with a WPC flipper assembly, replacement options for WPC-S security chip, 3D printed parts, options for after-market boards, etc).

FF...if you want to take a whack at this outline for the Wlilliams 3-7 section, give it a go. It's a bit of a mess. The Gottlieb and WPC sections are pretty solid. I'd leave those until you see how much work is involved. Chris Hibler
